ANECDOTES

We have received some notes from classmates relating some of their school memories.  We wanted to share these with you ... And hope you enjoy these trips down memory lane.  Please send in your favorite memories and we will post them.  Just let us know if you want your name included with your submission.
I went to the 30 year reunion only. Was rather disappointing. Saw just a couple of girls I knew back then- Martha Goldsmith and I think Mary Glen Westbrook. I went all 12 grades with both of them. I talked to them for a short time at the reunion but, didn't stay. They were both extremely nice. I don't really know what I expected, since, I hadn't kept in touch. No big deal really. I had the flu when they did senior pictures and never made it up. I think I was glad just to graduate. LOL... I went thru all the pictures and remembered many people with fond memories. It would be nice to hear from anyone that remembers me and just wants to say hi. It was such a long time, ago. Eddie Burrer was my backyard neighbor. Robin Lively lived down the corner and Charles Gray was just a couple of blocks away. Although, Eddie and I grew up playing in the neighborhood together, things change and by the time we were in high school we were both off doing other things. That is just the way life is. But Kay Cartwright, Connie Fowler, Penny Oliphant- they were great girls, and I enjoyed being their friend thru high school. Rae Jean Hansen was supposed to graduate in our class but she was in a car wreck- almost died and, I think graduated in 1968 or perhaps at another school. I saw Rae Jean about 10 years ago. Rae Jean and I had a nice lunch and caught up a bit. I ran into Corky Ament 3 or 4 years ago, but, he didn't remember me. There are so many people I went all 12 grades with like- Devry Garrett, Billy Moore, Joe Perry- I would like to talk to any of them- even if just one more time. Billy Moore and I played a lot together in grade school. Joe Perry was very good friends, I think, with Mike Becker who moved to Canton, Ohio. I kept in touch with Mike for about 10 years and then lost touch. I remember in grade school Raymond Goodnight could kick the ball further than anybody at recess. (kickball) Everybody always picked him first. And, there were so many other things and people I remember. I don't mean to leave anyone out, and there are many others. This is just what is flashing thru my mind at the moment- and, who, my big 4th grade crush was on- but, my lips will remain sealed on that. LOL.

This site is a great idea and I hope people enjoy the work that has been put into it.

I went on 1 date with Danny Smith one of the guys that has passed away.  I thought he was the best looking guy! I couldn't wait to go out with him. He invited me to an indoor movie. He sat in the show with his arm around me. It had to have gone to sleep!!! He would ask if I wanted anything???  I always said "no thank you". I bet he was dying to get UP!!!! ha, ha!!! Memories aren't they neat????

This was signed as....
"Randie"!!! Yes Randie! I thought Danny's name was Joe so I always said "Hi Joe". Then one day he asked me why I always called him Joe that his name was Danny! I said something about Rocky and he thought I said Randie so Randie it was until my Dad put a stop to that (ha, ha)!!!

From "Randie" ....

From John Lingor after getting the news that Kenny Ward had passed away in 1995 ....

Sorry to hear about Kenny. He grew up in my neighborhood and we played little league baseball together. We always used to kid him that if he had another freckle he would have to hold it in his hand because there wasn't room on his face. In high school he hung around with Mike Bixby, Bobby Bolls, Darrow Garner, et al. In fact, if I remember correctly, Kenny moved to Wyoming or Montana for a while and worked on a horse ranch. Hate to hear about all of these people who are our age passing on.....reality bites!
